Frequently asked questions

Q: Is it counselling that I need?

A: If you feel as if you want to talk to someone then counselling can provide a safe place for this. Some clients visit their GP before seeking counselling.

Q: How long will I need to come?

A: This is down to your individual choice or need. You will come for as long as you find it helpful. Some clients have one or two sessions, others have six or twelve or continue to come for a number of years. It's really down to individual process, 'readiness' or if you have a specific goal.

Q: Can I afford it?

A: A standard fee is £35 an hour (student concession £30)

Q: Can you give me advice?

A: I can give you information - maybe about counselling or about other services, based upon my experience. I won't tell you what to do. I can't say what's 'wrong' with you or diagnose you, as I believe that you are the expert on yourself and, that given certain conditions, you will find the way that's right for you. The journey may be hard - I will work hard to be with you and support you.
